Reports turn daily entries into answers. Accurate reports depend on complete entries, so always check that sales, purchases and expenses are up to date first.
Steps
Choose the right report
Start with the question you want answered: what sold, what is low, who owes us, what do we owe, what did we earn.
Set the date range and branch
Select the period and, if relevant, the branch or user. Compare similar periods, such as this month against last month.
Review sales and margin
Look at sales by item and category and at margin, not only totals. High sales with low margin may need price changes.
Review stock
Check low-stock and slow-moving items. Order what is running out and reconsider items that do not sell.
Review receivables and payables
Check overdue customer balances and supplier dues so cash is planned.
Export or print
Export to PDF or Excel when you need to share a report or analyse it further.
Tips

Common mistakes
